Rosie Emerson

Rosie Emerson was born in Dorset in 1981. Since graduating in Fine Art from Kingston University In 2004, she has dedicated her work to exploring beauty, power and voyeurism interwoven within the subject of the female image.
 

Drawing reference from archetype’s old and new, she uses drawing, collage or direct collaborations with photographers to create enigmatic images of women, which are simultaneously seductive and ultimately impotent.

"The works aim to both celebrate, and offer a mild critique on the depiction of women, and explore my wider feelings towards seduction, aesthetics, objectification and ‘spectacle’ all interwoven within figurative works of art"

Rosie has work in a number of private collections and has exhibited widely in the UK, as well as in Europe, the US and Israel. She has also recently produced work for clients include Redbull and Sony. 
Rosie currently lives and works in East London.
